Product Overview
The TC-TY series oval gear flow meter is a positive displacement meter specifically engineered for high-viscosity fluids, including:
Heavy oils
Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)
Resins
As a purely mechanical device, it is intrinsically safe for hazardous environments and offers:
Local display
Pulse signal output for remote transmission
Optional stainless steel construction for corrosive/sterile environments (e.g., chemical, food-grade applications)

2. Performance Metrics
Turndown Ratio: 10:1 (up to 50:1 optimized)
Repeatability: ±0.03%
Viscosity Range: 1–1,000,000 cP
Pressure Rating: Up to 551 bar

3. Installation Requirements
Pipe Straight Runs: 5D upstream + 3D downstream (mandatory 80μm upstream filter)
Flow Direction: Unidirectional (reverse flow prohibited)
Priming Protocol: Gradual startup (<50% overrange) to prevent gear damage
Operating Principle
Fluid Displacement:
Fluid enters the metering chamber, driving paired oval gears via differential pressure. Each rotation displaces a fixed volume.
Signal Generation:
TTL (NPN transistor) or contact-closure pulse output
Accuracy improves with viscosity (±0.1% achievable at high viscosity)
Critical Notes
Prohibited Media:
Solids-laden fluids (risk of gear jamming)
Aerated liquids (measurement errors)
Water (prohibited for testing)
Maintenance:
Avoid disassembling rear cover (calibration integrity)
Use bypass valves for system flushing
Error Calculation & Calibration
Basic Error Formula (Volumetric Method):
text
Copy Code
E = (Vm - V) / V × 100%
E: Meter error (cumulative)
Vm: Meter reading
V: Calibrated reference value
Adjustment Method:
Replace counter gear pairs to modify mechanical transmission ratio (does not alter flow characteristics).
